On May 21 (local Guinea time), Chalco Hong Kong — the project investment entity of Aluminum Corporation of China Ltd. (Chalco), a listed company under the Aluminum Corporation of China (Chinalco Group) — signed agreements related to the alumina project with the Government of Guinea in Conakry, Guinea's capital.

The Chalco Guinea Alumina Project represents another major international undertaking by Chinalco Group in Guinea, following the Simandou iron ore project. As the holding company of Chinalco Group's aluminum business, Chalco is the only large-scale international aluminum company in the global aluminum industry with a complete and fully integrated industrial chain.

The newly signed Chalco Guinea Alumina Project leverages Guinea's premium natural resources, with a planned investment of approximately $1 billion to construct an alumina production line with an annual capacity of 1.2 million tons. Once the project is launched, it will create local employment opportunities, enhance the skill levels of local workers, and drive sustainable local development — injecting strong momentum into Guinea's industrial development and industrial upgrading.
