Recently, Chinalco's 3,500mm copper and copper alloy wide plate hot and cold rolling mill successfully completed its trial rolling in a single run. By hitting this target ahead of schedule, the project has hit the "accelerator" for full production, marking a major breakthrough for China in the field of high-end rolling equipment for wide and thick copper plates.

This trial rolling focused on breakthrough in core processes, successfully reducing slab thickness from 118mm to 18mm-a total processing rate of 84%, far exceeding standard industry levels. The product tolerances remained stable and well-controlled, and the equipment demonstrated ample capacity margin, fully validating the mill's heavy-load rolling redundancy capabilities. The trial also comprehensively tested the core performance of the world's widest copper plate hot and cold rolling mill, laying a solid foundation for future process optimization and full-scale production.

As core equipment for the deep processing of high-end copper materials, the 3,500mm copper and copper alloy heavy plate cold and hot rolling mill integrates both cold and hot rolling functions. Through micrometer-level precise adjustment of the roll gap, it fundamentally solves common industry challenges such as uneven thickness and shape fluctuations during the rolling of large-width copper plates. This achievement realizes a synergistic breakthrough in micrometer-level precision and heavy-load rolling capabilities, providing core support for the production of high-precision, wide-surface copper and copper alloy plates.

Currently, Chinalco is accelerating follow-up trial rolling for thinner specifications and conducting system-wide joint debugging, steadily advancing towards large-scale, high-end production capabilities.
