Recently, Chinalco Group’s 200,000-ton recycled aluminum circular economy project has officially entered the equipment foundation construction phase, with the entire project advancing as scheduled.

As a flagship initiative to implement China's 14th Five-Year Plan for Circular Economy Development and dual carbon goals while deepening green development, Chinalco’s recycled aluminum project represents a significant move to optimize the company's industrial chain and boost regional economic growth. The project involves building core facilities including intelligent recycled aluminum melting and casting production lines, ultra-low emission systems for exhaust gases, full-process wastewater recycling treatment centers, alongside supporting digital management platforms. Upon completion, the facility will have an annual production capacity of 170,000 tons and process 30,000 tons of aluminum dross annually, establishing an integrated "recycling-regeneration-application" industrial chain for recycled aluminum.

Compared to primary aluminum production, manufacturing 1 ton of recycled aluminum saves 3 to 4 tons of standard coal and 14 cubic meters of water while significantly reducing solid waste emissions. This enables fully green and efficient production across the entire chain, truly giving new life to scrap aluminum.
